Boot Camp time slot and how many days per week do you attend?:

I am a proud "6:30 Sista"!!  I'm signed up for 5days/wk but usually go 4.

Feb 2012 I just passed my 1 year mark!  Woohoo!

Tell us a little about your life situation when you started camp and how your life has changed since you have joined boot camp.

OK, when I started boot camp a year ago I was out of shape and pretty depressed.  I have always struggled with my body image and tend to get down on myself, which leads to poor decision making which leads to gaining weight which leads to more depression.  You can see where I am going with this, right?  I was in a downward spiral.  I'm not quite sure what lead to me making the decision to join boot camp other than the fact that I had a friend and co-worker (I love you Jen Dwyer) who was coming to camp and loving it.  I could just see how great she was feeling.  She dragged me to Bring a Friend Day at 5:30 AM (this alone was an accomplishment for me!) and I could not BELIEVE how fun it was!  Once I got over the nausea, I was hooked!  I signed up for what I thought would be one camp to "jumpstart my motivation" (haha) and haven't looked back since!  I am now an early riser (I wouldn't go as far as calling myself a morning person quite yet) with so much more energy and confidence.  I love the way I look and feel.  And more importantly, I love myself enough to make a commitment to my health and my family's health.  My children have watched me transform from someone with no energy to someone who is always ready to play and loves being active.  Boot Camp has changed the way I look AND the way I think!

1) What inspired you to join SC Adventure Boot Camp?

I was ready to take a step towards a happier, healthier life.

2) What type of activities do you partake in outside of camp, what are some of the reasons you train with the camp or another way to phrase it, WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO CONTINUE IN CAMP?

Right now I am just enjoying being more active in general.  I don't sit and watch my kids rollerskate, I skate with them!  I go for walks and don't get out of breath.  I snowshoe.  I play.  I don't feel "lazy" about life.  I would love to push myself even further and do a 5K or a Mud Run in the future!

 3) Since joining camp, what are the most noticeable difference you see in your body or activity you train for?

I have gone down a size or two and lost at least 20lbs.  I don't usually weigh myself but I did have to punch a new hole in my belt!  My clothes feel better and I am not constantly pulling my shirt down to hide my belly!  I feel super strong too!  Arrrrrg! (That's my pirate sound for Ryan)

 4) Since joining camp, what are attributes in YOUR life have you noticed have changed for the better?

I think differently about fitness and what it means to be healthy.  I am happy and confident and I know that with hard work, anything is possible!  Everything is better!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my fellow bootcampers!!!  It is amazing to me how much I can push myself knowing that you ladies are right beside me!  Also, I love the variation in the workouts.  I would never have lasted this long at a gym!

6) WHAT IS YOU FAVORITE boot camp exercise?

Hmmmm, now that's a tough one.  I guess I love squats.  Really anything that does not involve jumping, you know what I'm talking about right ladies?  I love the challenge of holding a stationary position like squatting or doing reps until the muscles are completely exhausted.  It's where I really like to push myself.  I always have this inner dialog with myself "you CAN do this, YOU ARE STRONG."  Followed by "don't clench your teeth, remember to BREATHE!"

7) REFLECT back, what has been your favorite boot camp workout?

Without a doubt, PUSH A TRUCK DAY!  Close behind in second place is the PULL BEN AND JERRY THROUGH THE WET GRASS DAY.  What can I say, I'm a beast!

8) What is your favorite Boot Camp t-shirt Slogan?

9) In the Future, what are you looking forward to the most in SC Boot Camp?

Continuing to push myself while having fun and achieving my goals!  And making more friends of course!

10) What is one of YOUR Current health or fitness goal you are working towards in Boot Camp?

I'm working on improving my food choices with my family.  Also, slimming down and getting stronger!  I would love to do a Tough Mudder someday!

11) Who do you like better Ryan or Danielle??? LOL ;) OBVIOUSLY JK.. you love us BOTH!!! DUH!!!!

I plead the 5th!!!  I love you both and thank you both for all of your hard work and commitment to us!  None of us would be here if it weren't for you!
